🧾 The NHS blocking case studies of healthtech is a critical issue - guidance is needed, and what to do about it – Marketing is everything, and you’re never going to get far in marketing yourself to new prospects without case studies. But the NHS has a case study problem, and managing this requires a deft hand. Together Digital’s Liam Cahill joins the podcast this week to tell us more.

✈️ Copenhagen healthtech startup Corti raises $60M in Series B funding – being a doctor is like flying a plane transatlantically in a commercial 747: you need a co-pilot. If this metaphor feels forced, it’s the best we could do to explain Corti’s massive series B funding injection, which will go to helping doctors... get things done.
📕 ICS digital leaders prioritising Shared Health and Care Records – Fans of integrated care initiatives (of which Pigeon is) will be delighted that shared care records are top of the in-tray** for ICS digital teams. Not only that, but they’re generally optimistic they can achieve much of their digital strategies within 3 years — if money worries, service pressures and skills problems don’t get in the way.
🚅 Is the Federated Data Platform too expensive to cancel? – Is the Federated Data Platform healthcare’s answer to HS-2? Ethical Healthcare Consulting’s Prof Joe McDonald mulls this question in an oped for Digitalhealth.net. In Pigeon’s view the answer is no, if only because the FDP will continue to connect data south of Old Oak Common railway station, something HS-2 can’t currently claim….***
⛽️ Government pumps £10m into faster patient access to medtech – Given that May 2023 feels like it happened at least 10 years ago, Pigeon will forgive readers for needing a reminder about IDAP. The Innovative Devices Access Pathway is an initiative from all the big UK acronyms to bring technologies to patients faster. The pilot phase is kicking off, and targeted support is available to companies that could benefit.
