👴 Senior care platform Papa raises $150M to combat social isolation - The healthtech startup that matches older adults with trained “Papa Pals” to combat loneliness will use the investment to scale ‘the power of human connection’.
🛠 Clinical automation company secures Notable $100M to tackle the burden of healthcare admin - In healthcare where timing is everything, admin always manages to slow everything down. Notable is automating the administrative tasks faced by clinicians empowering them to practice at top of license and better serve patients.

Two industry veterans have launched MDisrupt, “the world’s first medical diligence company for the healthtech industry”, to try and prevent the next Theranos disaster.
💊 Isomorphic Labs is the latest addition to the Alphabet clan - Google’s parent company Alphabet takes a shot at the promising new field of AI drug discovery with their new company. Isomorphic Labs will build on research from DeepMind and will be headed up by DeepMind’s co-founder and chief executive, Demis Hassabis.
✅ AI gets a slap on the wrist for wrong diagnoses - This research study published in Informatics in Medicine Unlocked looks to tackle the ongoing challenge in healthcare AI of imbalanced datasets. By giving the algorithm a much bigger penalty for incorrectly telling a sick person that they are healthy, the algorithms performed significantly better with improved precision and recall.
